Pediatric Occupational Therapist opening (Part time or Locum) – Flexible, Fun and Family-Oriented Environment!

Little Marvels’ growing team is looking for another fabulous OT to join us in making a significant impact on children’s and families lives. The team is also therapist-centric in that we believe in the importance of learning, growing and training together in a psychologically-safe environment in order to provide excellent and coordinated care for our clients.
Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist:

Initial Assessments
-
Conduct initial parent interviews to gather developmental history and address concerns

Use standardized assessment tools and clinical observations to evaluate children's strengths and needs.

Assess areas including Sensory Processing, Fine and Gross Motor Skills, Visual Perception, Emotional Regulation, Social Skills and more.

Summarize findings and establish baseline data for intervention goals.

Goal Setting:

Develop individualized intervention plans based on assessment results.

Tailor therapy goals for each child, utilizing play-based, evidence-based and family-centred approaches relevant to school and home environments.

Communicate therapy goals clearly with parents, providing weekly home program and progress updates.

Therapy Sessions:
-
Conduct one-on-one, pair and group therapy

Parent coaching to improve translation of strategies in natural environments

Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
-
Full AHPC Registration only.
-
Experience working with pediatric populations in a clinical or school setting.
-
Knowledge of sensory integration techniques, play-based therapy and floortime.
-
Strong communication skills, especially in interacting with children and parents.

Ability to collaborate with other professionals such as speech therapists, psychologists, educational therapists, play therapists, counsellors and paediatricians
Preferred Skills:
-
Certification in Sensory Integration or related fields.

Experience with diverse pediatric populations and developmental disorders.

Familiarity with assistive technology and adaptive equipment.

Open to learning and taking on feedback
