Cheryl is a Senior Clinical Psychologist, a Registered Psychologist and an approved Clinical Supervisor with the Singapore Register of Psychologists, with over a decade of clinical experience. She has previously worked at the Institute of Mental Health (Child Guidance Clinic), a private therapy center, and a social community agency. Cheryl is well-versed in working with young children and adolescents, offering psychological assessments, individual therapy, and school-based interventions.
Throughout her career, Cheryl has demonstrated effective collaboration with families, schools and other partnering agencies to support young clients. In addition to providing clinical supervision, she has conducted mental health and psychological workshops for medical professionals and educators. Cheryl played a key role in establishing Singapore’s first paediatric Obsessive – Compulsive Disorder (OCD) clinic.
With her clinical experience, Cheryl has adeptly worked with children and adolescents with diverse backgrounds, addressing challenges such as anger management problems, behavioural issues, depression and anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic attacks, selective mutism, social anxiety and specific phobias.
Cheryl’s therapeutic philosophy centers around empowering young individuals by providing them with a voice and a safe space to work through their challenges and emotions. She adopts a client-centered approach, applying flexibility and utilizing a wide range of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, play therapy, and solution-focused therapy, based on the specific needs of each young person.
